Gamma
Why shortlist it: Generate a presentation from a brief or imported material, then export to PowerPoint or PDF. We recommend it as a starting point when speed and a coherent first draft matter more than an existing slide template.
The trade-off: Exported fonts, spacing and diagrams may differ from the editor. Inspect the exported file before presenting; a polished draft still needs your facts and narrative.

Microsoft 365 Copilot
Why shortlist it: Assistance across Word, Excel and PowerPoint makes it a natural choice for people whose work already lives in Office. Our recommendation is about reducing the need to move files between unrelated tools.
The trade-off: Copilot Chat, app editing and specialist agents do not have identical entitlements. Check your exact subscription and organisation settings. Review calculations, citations and generated slides yourself.

Gemini for Workspace
Why shortlist it: Gemini supports work in Google Docs, Sheets and Slides. It is our suggested starting point for teams that already collaborate in Google’s workspace and want assistance without leaving those apps.
The trade-off: Feature availability depends on the plan, account and administrator controls. Review generated text, formulas and slides before using them in decisions or sending them to clients.

A practical workflow
- Start with the audience, desired outcome and source material.
- Ask for an outline before generating a complete deck or document.
- Check facts, spreadsheet formulas and confidential information.
- Apply your brand, inspect the exported file and rehearse the presentation.
There is no universal winner. Choose Gamma for a presentation-first draft, Copilot for an Office-centred workflow, or Gemini for a Google-centred one.
